Wimbledon Speedway Supporters Club to support The Two Fat Submariners

Wimbledon Speedway Supporters Club are to support the efforts of the Two Fat Submariners by placing the logo and web link on the WSSC website plus holding collections at forthcoming reunion meetings. Nick Taylor, Chairman of the Wimbledon Speedway Supports Club said “ We have seen the growing support for the Two Fat Submariners and as WSSC we are keen to participate. The club will help promote the Two Fat Submariners relationship with speedway in and around Wimbledon as well as holding a collection at our reunion meetings. As for the club itself, despite only being able to ride away meetings in 2008, we are hopeful to find a home track in the future and continue with away meetings in 2011. If we can enable this we will be proudly wearing the Two Fat Submariners Logo on our race jackets. Two of the Two Fat Submariners support riders Terry Day and Chris Schramm are ex Wimbledon riders and Terry will be attending our next reunion on March 13^th. We all wish the Two Fat Submariners a very successful year and raise a substantial amount of money for their charities.”

Barry Bishop, one of the Two Fat Submariners, said, “The Dons is a team name integrated with speedway history since 1929 and I am very proud that the supports club have decided to get involved with the Two Fat Submariners. Of course Terry Day and Chris Schramm are two of our support riders and I have had a few skids with Buzz over the years, who I know is a current favourite. I am hopeful I can attend the upcoming a future reunion meeting to inform Nick and fellow members of the club what we are doing this year and what is planned. Steve and I really appreciate this club support and I know that with their help we will raise our end total significantly and we look forward to meeting with them soon and more importantly attending a meeting where the Dons are competing... maybe even against a Two Fat Submariners select .”
