Virgin Wines has shown its support to the Two Fat Submariners on their quest to undertake a variety of challenges for different charities, by donating prize items, which will be auctioned over the year to raise money for the charities they are supporting. Following on from their departure from the military ten years ago, Barry Bishop and Steve Mills have both continued with a nautical and charitable theme in their spare time, as well as being in full time employment. Barry is the Chairman of the Oxford Sea Cadets for children aged 10-18 and Steve is the Secretary of area five of the Royal Naval Association. This year they have decided to give back to the community and will be undertaking three huge challenges for three different charities – Help for Heroes by way of a cycle ride from Lands End to John O’Groats, NSPCC by running the Wroclaw Marathon in Poland and Make a Wish Foundation for swimming the channel. Virgin Wines is proud to be supporting Barry and Steve on their mission and have donated three cases of wine for auction, along with ‘Free Wine for a Year’ for one lucky winner, eight tickets to their London wine tasting and a luxury bottle of bubbly. The whole team at Virgin Wines hopes that these items will raise a substantial amount for the cause. Barry said: I have been a member of Virgin Wines for years now, probably very close to when the company started and have remained so ever since. I like their innovative style and their passion for wines. They select and deliver my wines and I have great pleasure drinking them, so for me it’s convenient, reliable and enjoyable. I am very pleased to have made this agreement with Virgin Wines for our charity year. Virgin Wines has donated some fabulous things and we hope that these items will cause a bidding frenzy. Steve and I thank the Virgin Wines team for supporting us and will proudly be wearing the Virgin Wines logo this year.’ Managing Director of Virgin Wines, Jay Wright added: ‘ I think it’s fantastic that two people give up a year of their lives to raise money for others and take on such tough challenges in doing so. We are very pleased to be supporting Two Fat Submariners and wish them the very best of luck in their fundraising activities.’ To find out more about the Two Fat Submariners and their Charity Quest, visit: www.twofatsubmariners.com For further details on Virgin Wines, visit: www.virginwines.co.uk
