Barry Briggs, four times World Speedway
Champion, has shown his support of the two
fat submariners by donating a signed copy of
his new book and signing Two Fat Submariner
hats and T Shirts.
Barry Bishop, TFS Speedway Support rider Adam Sheppard,
TFS photographer Richard Swaffield and TFS Sponsor Elizabeth
Leslie caught up with the speedway legend at the Wimbledon
Dons Speedway Supporter Club reunion. Barry Bishop one of the
Two Fat Submariners said “It was a very special moment for Adam,
Richard and I to meet Barry at the reunion. When I approached him
and explained what the Two Fat Submariners were all about, our
targets for the year and the three charities Help for Heroes, Make
a wish foundation and NSPCC, he was only too pleased to support
us. He was kind enough to sign two of our TFS logo’d T-shirts ,
one of our hats and pose for photos with our logo’d race jacket.
However, this was not all as Briggo donated one of his new books
titled “The Adventure of Barry Briggs, Wembley and beyond”
for auction which he has also signed. I hope that we can hook up
with Briggo during the year as he i s cycling to every speedway
track in the county for the Ben Fund”
Barry Briggs said “It is fabulous what these two are doing and I
wish them the very best for their year. Signing these shirts, hat
a nd copy of my book I hope that they will increase their total. I
know how much training is required for just a cycle and these two
guys are running and swimming too”.
The Two Fat Submariners would like to thank Nick Taylor and
everyone from Wimbledon Supporters Club for their kind invitation
to their reunion. Richard Swaffield has photo’s of those who
purchased Briggo’s book “The Adventures of Barry Briggs” on
his website.
